Operation Safe Driver Week

Next week, October 15th-21st, law enforcement will have an increased focus
on commercial motor vehicle and passenger-vehicle traffic enforcement
during the annual “Operation Safe Driver Week” sponsored by the
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and
Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. Specifically, law enforcement will be focusing on reducing dangerous
driving including speeding, distracted driving, texting, seatbelt violations,
traveling too closely, improper lane change, and failure to obey traffic
control devices. Unlike previous years, the 2017 campaign will be targeting
ALL vehicles, rather than focusing on truck and bus drivers alone.

Last year’s Operation Safe Driver Week resulted in 20,648 citations.
Of those citations, 47% resulted from reckless driving- which the entire
Tabor Law Firm team knows can easily result in a tragic collision.

While law enforcement will have a heightened emphasis on reducing dangerous
driving next week, as we all know, attempting to reduce dangerous driving
is a never ending battle. You can’t control how other driver’s
operate their vehicles, but we each can use this week to take a step back,
reflect on our own driving behaviors, and how those unsafe behaviors could
needlessly take someone’s life if a collision were to occur.

If you or a family member has been involved in an Indiana motor vehicle
collision, turn to the trusted attorneys at Tabor Law Firm- we’ll
fight for you when you need it the most.
