Federal Report Underscores Work-Related Fatal Accident Outcomes
We note on our website at the proven Indianapolis personal injury firm
of Tabor Law that “the causes of
wrongful death are varied.”
It is hard to overstate that. The negligence and otherwise substandard
behavior of others leads to dire outcomes — sometimes even wrongful death
— for innocent individuals and families in many contexts.
We know our valued readers often see news focused upon senseless tragedies
resulting from reckless driving. People suffer serious and fatal harm
from defective products, medical malpractice and many other causes, as well.
Especially work-related dangers.
A recent federal report notes that. Its statistics on workplace fatalities
nationally indicate that, on average, 14 workers were killed in on-the-job
incidents each day in a recent year.
That is deeply troubling. One commentator on a
spiking fatal injury rate in the country’s workplaces says that his safety organization “is very disheartened” by the news.
So, too, are all other safety advocates and professionals who know that
common sense and simple due care can almost eliminate completely wrongful
deaths that trace to third-party negligence.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 5,190 workers died at
their places of employment in 2016 owing to work-linked accidents and
injuries. Surely we can do better than that.
It is the role of knowledgeable and caring attorneys who represent accident/injury
victims and their families to provide aggressive assistance in the wake
of a wrongful death. That is what Tabor Law advocates routinely do for
clients all across Indiana, working hard on their behalf to
help ensure accountability in their case and secure maximum legal remedies against responsible parties.
We invite contacts to the firm to discuss our strategies geared toward
fully promoting the interests of personal injury victims and their loved
ones in every case we handle.
