Travis
Travis was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. In 1995, he received his Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and, in 1998, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington. He was Managing Editor of the Indiana Law Journal in which he published a Note regarding innocent third parties who are killed or seriously injured as a result of high-speed police chases.
After his first year of law school, Travis clerked for the prominent Lafayette personal injury law firm, Vaughan & Vaughan, where he first learned the personal rewards and fulfillment that come from helping individuals and families recover from tragedy. After his second year of law school, Travis clerked for the international law firm Winston & Strawn in their New York office located in Midtown Manhattan. Following this summer clerkship, Travis accepted an offer to join Winston & Strawn upon law school graduation, and was admitted to the New York bar in 1999. During his practice with Winston & Strawn, Travis represented clients such as Philip Morris and was resident in both the firm’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices. In 2000, Travis returned to Indiana, joining the litigation department of the largest law firm in Indiana, Barnes & Thornburg. The same year, he was admitted to the Indiana bar and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
In 2001, Travis joined Tabor Law Firm and, ever since, has focused his practice exclusively on representing individuals and families who have been seriously injured or lost loved ones due to the carelessness and negligence of others. During this time, he has helped children, sisters, brothers, friends, mothers, fathers, wives and husbands deal with the traumas and tragedies none of them ever thought they would face, and then he has helped them recover and regain their lives when they least believed they could. In the process, Travis has realized why he decided to practice law.
Travis resides in Fishers with his wife and two daughters, ages 1 and 3. When he is not working, Travis enjoys playing in a band, traveling, writing and recording music, reading, being occasionally persuaded to step foot on a golf course for the sole purpose of making his friends feel better about their game, pretending to be the person at Tabor Law Firm who can answer technology questions for the sole purpose of being entertained by the questions and, of course, spending time with his family and friends.
