Speeding

Excessive speeding is a main contributor to boating accidents. Each year hundreds of people are injured or fatally killed because of speeding. Boating operators are required to follow all posted signage, including speed limits. In 2008, the US Coast Guard reported that excessive speeding was the primary cause in 282 accidents resulting in 29 fatalities and 268 injuries.
